Giving Back: Kendra Inman

Like so many Portfolio Center alumni, who find ways to contribute to things that are larger than themselves, designer Kendra Inman has a cause. And she believes in that cause so strongly, she's training to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon (that's 13.1 mi.) in October, as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training, to raise money to help find a cure for cancers of the blood.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, the world's largest endurance sports training program, provides training to run or walk marathons and half marathons or participate in triathlons and century bike rides. Since its inception in 1988, more than 300,000 volunteer participants have helped raise over $700 million. Each member of Kendra's team is committed to raising at least $2500, and Team in Training works hard to ensure that most of the money goes directly to the people who need help most, the researchers and patients.

Aside from the fact that Kendra pulled the muscles in the arches of her feet (Who knew that was even possible?), her training has been going well in the beautiful hills of San Francisco. She has only a few more weeks to meet her fitness and fund-raising goals, though, so she could use your encouragement and support (especially in the form of a donation).

Kendra is doing the hard part. All you have to do to help is go to her donations page and give what you can.

Oh, and when Kendra's not out doing ten-mile training runs, she's the new senior designer for Roxy, on the brand team.
