By painting the walls of New York, we honor the lesser-known individuals who helped make the more famous
musicians what they are today. And, by doing this, we show that Q104 goes much deeper than the usual top 40 stations.
Guy Stevens, Q104 owes you one.
For raising hell in your tiny London studio. For flooding the interior of a piano with beer
to make it sound “Perfect.” For keeping the fight alive in four lads trying to push punk
somewhere new. For managing to produce one of the grittiest, grimiest and
awesomely- real albums ever. But, most of all for making London call to us.
Q104 Rock owes you one, guys Stevens, for helping to give our station over
30 Casaba-Rocking years playing The Clash.

Hilly Kristal, Q104 owes you one.
For giving four gangly Jewish kids from queens a chance. For putting them on your stage
when no one else would. For owning a perfectly seedy NYC club. Hell, for coming to work
on Aug. 16th 1974. But most of all for giving us a reason to clench our fists and rebel
in rhythm to what we wanted.
Q104 Rock owes you one, Hilly Kristal, for helping to give our station over 31 sweat-soaked
years playing The Romones.

Carlos Alomar, Q104 owes you one.
For waking a rock-star and rescuing his heart. For stuffing him full of funk, soul
and home-cooked meals when he needed it most. For smoky late night sessions down
at the Apollo. For crunching out guitar rifts so crazy they couldn’t help but make sense.
But, most of all for making a lost Ziggy Stardust and making him into a “Young American.”
Q104 Rock owes you one, Carlos Alomar, for giving our station over 25 Glitter-Filled
years of David Bowie.
