A. A student’s competitiveness starts with a strong portfolio. From that point, the Career Development office helps students research agencies, design firms, and New Media companies. Career Development provides graduates with proper contact information and can help set up interviews.

A. Often, prospective employers visit Portfolio Center and conduct on-site interviews. Twice a year, we host industry review days where national and international agencies, design firms, and New Media companies can meet candidates and review portfolios.

Q. How should prospective employers recruit from Portfolio Center?

A. Build a relationship with the President and the Career Development office. Firms are encouraged to visit Portfolio Center to interview and educate our students.

Q. Does Portfolio Center charge a placement fee?

A. No.

Q. What is the job placement rate for Portfolio Center graduates?

A. The rate varies, but the average graduate lands a job in one to three months.

A. Salaries vary with each discipline. Advertising salaries run from $28,000 to $45,000. Graphic Design positions run from $40,000 to $60,000. Photographers and Illustrators tend to be freelance, so their income varies.
