Awards are important. They are the recognition of special effort, quality work, and supreme professionalism. They’re a reflection of your integrity and what you’re all about. Those who say they don’t care about winning awards are usually the ones who take shortcuts—who design, write, shoot, or draw for themselves and not their audiences or clients. They’re the people who refuse to break with tradition or take the risks necessary to convey the most effective, memorable messages. The objective, after all, is not merely to make things look good; it’s to communicate.
