On Writing, Discovery and Creativity

After presenting a workshop in New York last month, I took a hike across the Brooklyn Bridge to view Olafur Eliasson’s New York City Waterfalls.

Stepping into Brooklyn also gave me the chance to catch up with Alissa Walker, one of my favorite PC alums. Early this summer, Alissa left the rarefied air of Hollywood for three months in the NYC area, working on a travel book for Chronicle.

Timing

There are no coincidences. I’ve been a big fan of Steve McCurry’s for a long time. He’s the photographer who shot the famous image of the Afghani girl for the cover of National Geographic in 1983 that brought major attention to what was happening in that part of the world. It has since become one of the most widely recognized photos of all time.

Media Blitz

Great fun! Emcee Holly’s data blitz in Seminar yesterday morning. Chubby Bunny game show contestants Justin, Jolie, and Liz fill their mouths with marshmallows, seeing who can annunciate the title phrase with the most marshmallows in their mouth. WOW!!!!!

A data blitz we’ll never forget. And only at Portfolio Center, where we play as hard as we work.

Everything At Once

Time being that inevitable reality that keeps everything from happening all at once, I have had a busy, busy few weeks, even by my own standards.
