Hanging the Wall
A BIG thank you to Portfolio Center students who spent all day Saturday hanging the new show, which looks fantastic! It is a great testament to your hard work and dedication last quarter. Your time and energies are much appreciated, but it is your positive spirit and enthusiastic teamwork that really sets you apart. It was a tough job, but you guys made it look like fun.
I’d also like to thank everyone who helped with the judging, especially Eddie Snyder and his crew from Fitzgerald & Co., and Jennifer Leahy, who rounded up the folks from Match.
The student show is often the first impression visitors have of Portfolio Center. It says so much about you and your school. Incidentally, I know of several students who have been hired for projects because guests were impressed and started asking questions.
I should say, too, how nice it is for the administrative staff here to walk in the day after a new show has been hung. Their faces light up. It reminds everyone why we’re here, how much gets accomplished between these walls. Y’all make us so proud.

I loved showing my eighteen-year-old daughter the new work today. She was in awe.
wow. who hung those planes?
I think Mary hung those planes… they look awesome!
heck yea, I did….I embody this christ-like quality that allows me to be in many different places at one time. it’s a gift, really.
hey now. let’s not get carried away here. Mary, the true gift here is hanging planes without breaking any. Now that’s a gift.
