Congratulations, Christian!

Portfolio Center alum Christian Helms just emailed to tell me his friends Modest Mouse, whose new cd packaging was created by The Decoder Ring, debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top 200. “We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank” sold 129,000 in its first week.

Christian has had the good fortune to work with plenty of stars since he finished school—folks like Dave Matthews, Neko Case, Interpol, and The Shins. But it wasn’t that long ago that he was still at PC, not altogether convinced it was true: If you can dream it, you can do it.
