Last week we had one of the best class sessions I’ve ever taught at Portfolio Center. We took on the subjects of Pragmatics, Semantics, Syntactics, Semiotics, Signs, Symbols, Icons, Indexes, Metaphor, Denotation, Connotation, Association, Ethos, Pathos, and—of course—Logos. Presentations were lively and informative, discussion was intelligent and provocative, we were able to cover about three Master’s theses’ worth of material in eight hours, and we had some fun to boot.
